Anstiss v Watson
Fever’s Captain and the Diamonds Captain have a great rivalry on the SSN court.
Anstiss has spent most of the season at Wing Defence and seems the natural match-up for Watson at Wing Attack. Though both players have also spent time at Centre in recent matches.
Watson leads the league for Goal Assists and Centre Pass Receives so Anstiss will have a big role to play in kerbing her influence on the contest.
Aryang v Fretwell
In their previous battle, Aryang played a huge role in making life difficult for Fretwell, especially in the supershot period.
When the game was on the line in the final quarter, Aryang’s sole focus of limited Fretwell’s supershot opportunities helped Fever to a three-goal win on the road.
Aryang has enjoyed a consistent and outstanding season, leading Fever’s defence with 20 Intercepts.
Fretwell is the Lightning’s supershot specialist and sits third in the league with 62 two-pointers from 100 attempts, averaging four supershots per match.
Fowler-Nembhard v Bruce and Ervin
The match-up between the two premiership players and the up and coming Ash Ervin is going to be a pivotal contest.
Fowler-Nembhard contributed 66 goals with three supershots in Round Two and 55 including two supershots in the Round Eight contest. She also lead the league again for scoring with 813 goals at 96 per cent.
Ervin has relished her opportunities throughout the season and her 77 Deflections and 20 Intercepts across the season has helped her earn a Diamonds squad call-up.
Since her return from injury in Round 10, Bruce has been slowly building her court time and played 46 minutes on the weekend against the Thunderbird. Over her past five matches she is averaging three Deflections, 2.4 Gains and 0.6 Intercepts.
