Fever are riding the absolute high that comes with breaking the Suncorp Super Netball Regular Season Attendance Record, Most Consecutive Wins Record, celebrating two milestones and having a West Australian pathway product debut in one match.
In their 11th consecutive win, Fever downed the Giants by 17 goals in a stellar second half performance.
The side will end their regular season against the Melbourne Vixens this Sunday, hoping to secure one last win before Finals.
The Vixens have fought their way back into finals contention after a shaky start to 2025. They currently sit at third on the ladder after beating the Queensland Firebirds by two goals in Round 13 and need to win to play finals.
Head-to-Head
Three Australian Origin Diamonds will face off in the goal circle when Sophie Garbin and Kiera Austin battle Sunday Aryang. Last week, Aryang hunted down four Rebounds, four Deflections and three Intercepts in a standout game that the star will be looking to repeat.
The power of Alice Teague-Neeld cannot be underestimated after Round 13. The Wing Attack achieved 47 Feeds; 28 Goal Assists and 22 Centre Pass Receives against the Giants. Teague-Neeld will likely face off against a rotation of athletes in Wing Defence including Kate Eddy and Jo Weston.
Vixen Goal Keeper Rudi Ellis will face former premiership teammate Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard in Goal Shooter. Fowler-Nembhard shot 63 goals at an accuracy rate of 95 per cent in Round13.
From the Coach
Head Coach Dan Ryan said going into the final game already knowing you’re Minor Premiers is a unique situation
“We’re very much respecting the Vixens circumstance of needing to lock in third place and a home Semi Final, it’s going to bring out their best which should demand our best as well,” Ryan said.
“I have no doubt that the players will want to keep that winning feeling going in front of their home fans.”
