“Spirit of the Fever”

Spirit of Fever

As a career Contemporary Aboriginal artist, a mum, and a WCF supporter, I am honoured to share with you my creation ‘Spirit of the Fever’. A fresh new design to inspire everyone, whether your at home, in the city or out bush, on the court or in the stands. This design and all it represents will lift you onward and upward.

This new work holds an immense amount of West Australian pride, and carries with it a deep respect for our first nations people & Country; for each other; and for the game we love. Together we can find strength in the ‘Spirit of the Fever’.

We are the West Coast Fever. We are elite but not without hard work, commitment and determination. We stay grounded always, and we pay respects to all first nations people & lands on which we live, travel & play. We approach the game and our netball journey with a good heart and unwavering passion, yes we are the West Coast Fever”.

As you breaking down the artwork into sections, we see the land/Country being represented at the top, with waves of fans cheering and chanting in the background as they are positively moved by their team. Everyone comes together in a quest to be the best each season. Below we see the on court team of seven being supported by their management, sponsors and families. They work together for the best results possible.

To the sides of the piece our young fans are represented with hopes and dreams to be Fever players. With stars shining in the sky and a twinkle in their eye, we continue our commitment to support the Shooting Stars program and all they strive for in the communities they operate. From humble beginnings - we grow with you.

Central to the design we are taken on an exciting journey, darting across the court we carry our hopes, pushing through the challenges, we run together chasing our dreams in our quest to be the best, with our Fever family beside us.

Finally at the base of the artwork, we see boomerangs, they have long been a symbol of hunting and sustaining our families, here they are composed in a shield like pattern for added protection and a symbol for the players to draw strength from. Play to your best, while the cheers of support from your family and fans lift you higher and higher.
