West Coast Fever attacker Alice Teague-Neeld is looking to continue her learning, experience and skill development in wing attack after spending some of 2022 the new position.
“I only had one year at wing attack last year so still kind of building on that and getting a little bit more skilled in that area,” Teague-Neeld said.
“I am also working with Sash and Coshy and when Jhaniele gets back soon bringing her into that too.”
Teague-Neeld said the Fever’s pre-season so far had been very solid.
“We had a good block of eight weeks before Christmas which was a really good building block for the group and to work on individual skill, lot of conditioning,” she said.
“Pre-season training is a little bit of a love-hate relationship. It’s really great to get fit and be with the girls.
“Obviously you have the tough running sessions and conditioning sessions you feel good after that but during them I don’t love them so much.
“It’s a good opportunity to work combinations whilst some of the other girls are away with the Diamonds and Jhaniele’s away with Jamaica so just working in small groups which is handy.”
Teague-Neeld said the side was looking forward to the upcoming pre-season matches.
“It’s really important to get a few games under our belt before the season comes.
“The Vic Men’s came over last year and we had some games against them and it’s a really good opportunity to play against something different, they bring a different style of game, they are very athletic and very skilled so looking forward to that one.
“It's been a while since we all played together so just getting the combinations going.
“We’ve got Kim [Jenner] who is new this year, so it is a really good opportunity to play some of those combos that we haven’t played before and get ready for round one.”
