The Lightning challenged Fever throughout the second half and when Power 5 commenced in the final quarter, the visitors led by eight goals.
Fever were able to capitalise on two missed super shots to control the final five minutes and walk away with the win.

Q1: WCF 21 | LIG 13
After the sides traded scores on centre pass to start the game, Fever were able to silence the home crowd with a five-goal run. Two super shots to Sasha Glasgow during Power 5 helped to create a handy eight-goal lead at quarter time.
Courtney Bruce was exceptional in defence opposed to Australian Goal Shooter Cara Koenen with two Gains and an Intercept in the quarter to lead the way for Fever. Alice Teague-Neeld was back to her influential best with 10 Feeds to start the game strong.
Q2: WCF 39 | LIG 26
Bruce continued her stellar form in the second quarter with two Gains, an Intercept and two important Rebounds to help Fever build on their lead.
Teague-Neeld, Glasgow and Jess Anstiss, after she was moved into Centre for the Power 5, helped Fever control the contest for the majority of the quarter as they went to the main change with a 13-goal lead.
Q3: WCF 57 | LIG 50
Lightning came out firing to begin the third quarter with the first three goals before an arm wrestle developed through until Power 5.
Fever were in control with an 11-goal lead and then Lightning Captain Steph Wood stepped up with four super shots to reduce the Fever lead to seven at the final break.
Verity Simmons joined Teague-Neeld and Glasgow in providing great energy and connection in attack to feed Jhaniele Fowler who was making life difficult for the Lightning defenders and finsihed the game shooting at 100 per cent.
Q4: WCF 74 | LIG 64
The Lightning continued to press in the final quarter and reduced the Fever lead to as little as five goals halfway through the quarter.
After the Lightning called a time out, Fever began to build their pressure all over the court as the home team tried to reduce the margin during the Power 5.
The visitors were able to capitalise on two missed super shots to control the final five minutes and walk away from the Sunshine Coast with the win.
Fever maintains their position on top of the ladder with a six and one record at the half way mark of the season.
In a sad note, former Fever player Shannon Eagland appeared to sustain a knee injury for the Sunshine Coast.
