Shooting powerhouse Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard led from the front breaking her scoring record with 75 goals (98 per cent) in a dominant display.
Q1 Fever 17 | Swifts 15
The match started with an explosive first quarter, Fever in form in both attack and defence.
The first three goals of the game went to record breaker Fowler-Nembhard, contributing to her 17 for the quarter.
The combination of Sunday Aryang and Fran Williams in defence made the Swifts fight hard for every single point, with the opposition’s missed goals a credit to the Fever pair.
Q2 Fever 41 | Swifts 31
Aryang’s defensive pressure continued throughout the game, taking a rebound in the second quarter and limiting the super shot powers of Helen Houbsy.
Williams took both a rebound and an intercept for the quarter, along with Shanice Beckford who once again proved her skills don’t just lie in goals with her own deflection.
Fowler-Nembhard continued her dominance in goals with a 100 per cent accuracy for the quarter, her ability to make herself free from her player widening the margin to 10 points by half time.
Q3 Fever 58 | Swifts 47
Jordan Cransberg made her entrance on the court for the first time for the day in the third quarter, making her presence known.
Cransberg in combination with Teague-Neeld worked their way down the court quickly to assist Fowler-Nembhard in her 17 goals.
Q4 Fever 78 | Swifts 71
Teague-Neeld fought until the very end with seven goal assists, 10 feeds and an intercept to round out the game.
The Swifts did not let Fever take the win easy, coming back hard in the last quarter, but ultimately not enough to match the girls in green.
Fever will travel to Queensland next week to face off against the Firebirds.
