Despite finishing sixth last season, mid-courter Verity Charles is confident the Fever squad have the talent and drive to rise up the ladder in 2020.
Charles, who is set to play her 100th national league game next season, said she is hopeful Fever can turn things around.
“We’ve had an amazing review process before the break and got some clarity on a few things,” Charles told The West Australian on Friday.
“We had that team last year, it just didn’t fall in the right place.”
“I still look at last year and think three draws and a couple of close losses by one, there was a couple of goals in it and it could have been a completely different season.
“It is not as bad as we think it is.”
Half of the Fever squad returned to training this week, with Jess Anstiss and Alice Teague-Neeld back on deck on Monday.
Stacey Francis, Jhaniele Fowler and captain Courtney Bruce will return to the Fever camp in the coming weeks.
