Aryang has excelled for both Fever and the Diamonds since making her national league debut in 2019. The versatile defender is not afraid to play in either Goal Defence or Wing Defence and has played 62 matches for Fever and was part of Australia’s successful 2023 international netball season, winning the Netball World Cup, Constellation Cup and Test Series against South Africa.
Aryang, who has re-signed for two seasons, said: “I’m super excited to play in front of the Green Army again at RAC Arena in season 2024. Our fans are truly the most amazing crowd and there is nothing quite like playing in front of a packed stadium, especially when it is time for us to play and perform. The Green Army really are like having an extra player on the court.
“I cannot wait for Fran to arrive in Perth and we can start to build our defensive connection under our new Assistant Coach Sara Francis-Bayman. I saw Fran’s performance at the World Cup and I truly believe she is going to be a major asset for Fever in 2024.
“Speaking with the other players we are all ready to step foot on the training court and beginning our preparations for another big year of Suncorp Super Netball.”
Fever Coach Dan Ryan said Aryang has developed into a world class defender and believed there was more improvement in her game.
“Sunday is such an important player in our team and her versatility to play in the circle and on the wing, make her one of our most valuable players,” Ryan said.
“Her work ethic, tenacity and selflessness are second to none and everyone in the team just respects and adores her so much. I’m so thrilled to have her on board once again, we are looking forward to her combination with Fran under the guidance of Assistant Coach Sara Francis-Bayman.”
England Roses defender Williams joins Fever on a two-season contract and will arrive in Perth in February. She was named as the Goal Defence in the Netball World Cup Team of the Tournament after a superb tournament for the Roses as they took home the silver medal. She was also named Player of the Series in England’s recent series victory over South Africa.
Williams said: "I am super excited to be joining West Coast Fever and cannot wait to get going with the team and see what we can achieve in 2024.
“I have heard the Green Army are full of passion and I look forward to playing at RAC Arena and meeting you all!"
Ryan said Williams was one of the most exciting young talents in world netball.
“Fran has awesome netball smarts and plays the game so uniquely that she can do things that simply defy logic. She’s going to be a great addition to our new look defence line,” Ryan said.
“She was outstanding at the World Cup in Cape Town and played a huge role in helping the Roses win the silver medal. She’s a big game player and knows how to stand up under pressure.”
