West Coast Fever will travel Far North Queensland for the Round 13 of the Suncorp Super Netball League, it was announced today.
In confirming the final two rounds of the season, the Round 13 Indigenous Round will see Fever take on the Giants at the Cairns Pop Up Arena on Saturday September 19.
In celebration of Indigenous Round, Fever will wear an Indigenous themed dress, designed by Noongar artists Peter Farmer and Kylie Graham. The design incorporates the seven circular symbols on the top of the uniform represent the seven players on court gathering or coming together and the unpredictable path water weaves throughout the landscape. There are also 90-degree angles that symbolise the sections of the netball court and the sometimes-sharp turns that life takes each individual on in their journey, while there are 12 symbols of Aboriginal culture that represent the female.
West Coast Fever Managing Director, Simon Taylor said: “The indigenous dress design highlights the connection between our grassroots netball participants and the indigenous community as part of our purpose to inspire and make you proud.”
The last round sees Fever face Adelaide Thunderbirds on Saturday September 19 in Brisbane at Nissan Arena.
Fever take on Melbourne Vixens today at 11am AWST, you can watch the action live on 9GEM, Telstra TV or Netball Live.
