Following their Suncorp Super Netball win the day before, Fever athletes Olivia Wilkinson (nine goals) and Fran Williams both put out minutes for the Reserves side.
The Mavericks took a five-goal lead in the first quarter that ignited a fire for Fever who went on to win the next three.
With four minutes to go in the final quarter, Fever were only up by one. Sophia Lamers went out searching for an opportunity and took it with three goals in two minutes, followed by another from Burton to solidify the win.
Jasmah Haywood was the leading goal scorer for the girls in green with 18 to herself, alongside Sloan Burton (eight), Sophia Lamers (eight) and Wilkinson.
Kelsey Browne, utilising her experience and speed, played four quarters rotating between Wing Attack and Centre and earnt herself MVP for the match.
The Reserves now travel to Adelaide to face the Thunderbirds on Saturday, 17 May at 6:30pm WST at Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
