West Coast Fever is set to make history in Kalgoorlie-Boulder next week marking the first time the Club will play pre-season games in the Eastern Goldfields area, thanks to the combined support of the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, the State Government, and our Principal Partner the Gold Industry Group.
Fever will go head to head with Giants Netball in two matches on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 March at the Goldfields Oasis Recreation Centre.
The community will also have the opportunity to interact with Fever players on their tour of the Goldfields, as they host a free open training session, post-match signing sessions and a free community clinic, in addition to visiting five local schools.
West Coast Fever Managing Director, Simon Taylor said the visit will be a great opportunity to engage with WA’s regional and remote communities.
“Our Club belongs to the whole of Western Australia and it’s great to have opportunities like this to strengthen our connection with our loyal fan base in all areas of WA,” said Taylor.
“We thank the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, the State Government, and the Gold Industry Group for their support.”
Gold Industry Group Vice Chairperson Kelly Carter said the Group are proud to make the exciting trip possible as West Coast Fever’s new Principal Partner for the 2020 and 2021 Suncorp Super Netball League seasons.
“The Gold Industry Group and its members are delighted to support West Coast Fever to bring elite netballers from across the nation to the Goldfields for the first time, in what will be a fantastic opportunity for the community to witness two live matches and engage with players through the various activities on offer.” Ms Carter said.
“We are excited to see our support continue to generate unique benefits and connections in the regions, while creating new talent pathways and building capacity to harness new opportunities,” Ms Carter concluded.
The pre-season tour comes following a recent trip with Fever players to Kalgoorlie-Boulder with the Gold Industry Group in November, where they participated in the City's annual Saint Barbara's Festival Parade, held community clinics and explored the region.
