West Coast Fever has appointed radio presenter, Nadia Mitsopoulos as the Club’s number 1 ticket holder for 2020.
Mitsopoulos said she was delighted to accept the offer and support the WA team in what is an unprecedented time, as the team prepares for the announcement of a relaunched 2020 season later this month.
“I’m a huge netball and Fever fan, to be part of the Fever family is humbling and I’m extremely proud and honoured to have been asked,” Mitsopoulos said.
“The spectator appeal of netball has grown immensely, and the success of Fever has had a lot to do with that here in WA. I am keen to spread the word and be part of a team that will continue to build on its past success and bring in a bigger fan base.”
The ABC Radio Breakfast co-host has been a loyal Fever fan, attending many home games throughout past seasons.
“I remember watching Fever for quite a few years at Challenge stadium. Before long, the games would be a sell out and suddenly getting a ticket was hard and I missed out a few times. To see them move to a bigger venue at RAC Arena is testament to not only the Fever players who have brought success, but the team working hard behind the scenes,” she said.
West Coast Fever Managing Director, Simon Taylor is thrilled to welcome Mitsopoulos as Fever’s number one ticket holder.
“Nadia is a well renowned media personality in Perth, a long-time supporter of West Coast Fever and netball in WA, and an incredible role model and ambassador for our Club,” he said.
“Our vision as a Club is to inspire and make our fans proud, and we are excited to have Nadia join us in delivering on that promise,” he said.
While Covid-19 has disrupted the start of the Super Suncorp Netball season, the players are just as keen as the fans to get back out on court and Mitsopoulos is calling on all fans to get behind Fever.
“Covid-19 has made people realise just how important sport is in our lives; whether as a participant or spectator, sport brings communities together, gives us a sense of purpose and of course is fun. Buy your scarf, get your t-shirt and countdown to season 2020 – it will be one to remember.”
