West Coast Fever are delighted to have rewarded training partners Sunday Aryang and Emma Cosh with playing contracts for the 2021 Suncorp Super Netball season.
Both Aryang and Cosh travelled to Queensland with the team as part of the 12-player extended squad for this year’s Suncorp Super Netball Season. Both players have gained valuable game-day experience, with Cosh debuting for Fever in Round 9 against the Firebirds and has been part of the team’s starting 7 ever since.
West Coast Fever Head Coach, Stacey Marinkovich said the WA player pathway is crucial in developing talent and creating opportunities.
“Our players have made a huge sacrifice this season, by being away from home for an extended period of time,” she said.
“For Sunday and Emma to have given up their commitments in Perth to travel to Queensland without being guaranteed a game showed their commitment to the team and the sport.
They have both grown as players and have had some standout performances and I cannot wait to see them develop to their full potential.”
Aryang has been an important part of Fever’s defensive line, with the young goal defender quickly being touted as a player to watch in 2021. In her first League semi-final the 19-year-old claimed the player of the match award after helping the club turnaround a nine-goal deficit against NSW Swifts, to win the match.
Cosh has proven her versatility on the court, the goal attack has played wing attack all season, after replacing the injured Ingrid Colyer. The 27-year-old played in her first finals League finals series and earned player of the match award for her standout performance in the preliminary final against Sunshine Coast Lightning.
