Burton returns to the Fever environment after previously being a training partner in 2022, the Club’s premiership year.
In 2023, Burton took a break from training partner duties to focus on her Fever Academy and Gold Industry Group WA Netball League commitments, where she was part of the Comets inaugural premiership team and claimed the Grand Final MVP.
Burton then spent 2024 with Team Bath in the UK Netball Super League.
West Coast Fever Head Coach Dan Ryan said Burton was a respected member of the squad and has been performing well in the training environment.
“Sloan’s time away from our program has really fuelled her passion to pursue her netball. Since she has re-entered our environment, her new level of focus and intent has been clear for all to see,” he said.
“She is a really smart, skilful and crafty attacker with the ability to shoot from anywhere in the circle.
“Everyone within the Club knows that Sloan will embrace every opportunity this season and her best netball is yet to come.”
Burton said becoming a training partner was her goal since returning to Perth from the UK.
“I’m excited to become a training partner this year, I’ve worked really hard and was hoping I would get a spot,” Burton said.
Ryan surprised Burton with the news in front of her teammates at the recent Ballarat Blitz.
“It was so much fun the way I found out, Dan did well with that one. I didn’t see it coming in that moment, so it was amazing to find out in front of my teammates.”
Burton joins the rest of the West Coast Fever extended squad, including 11th player Zoe Cransberg and Training Partners Kelsey Browne and Caitlyn Brown along with Dylan McPherson, Dravyn Lee-Tauroa and Tom Harper.
