Fever have had a year like no other, ending the regular season as Minor Premiers, alongside a record for most consecutive SSN wins and multiple attendance records at their home fortress.
Saturday will be Fever’s fourth SSN grand final appearance as they chase their second title following the Club’s maiden premiership in 2022.
Fever are painting the town green, their efforts in the 2025 season handing them the longest winning streak of any major West Australian sporting Club.
After an astonishing 32-goal win over the NSW Swifts in the Major Semi Final, Fever have had a week’s break to regroup.
In that time, the NSW Swifts faced the Melbourne Vixens in the Preliminary Final. In what turned out to be a finals thriller, the Vixens came back from 10 goals down at three quarter time to win by one-goal.
Since their win, the Vixens have had a six-day turnaround as they prepare to face the Minor Premiers.
The two sides are known for their competitive rivalry, having faced each other twice in a grand final, with the Vixens victorious in 2020 and Fever in 2022.
To add to the rivalry, in 2024 Fever’s grand final hopes were ended by the Vixens in a one-goal preliminary final finish.
If Fever come away victorious, their year will go down in history as season of resilience and relentless determination.
The side had a tough start to the year, facing two consecutive losses to open the season. Jhaniele’s return in Round Three ignited a fire in the side, who went on to dominate the League both on and off the court.
From the Captain
Fever Captain Jess Anstiss said she always dreamed of playing for the West Coast Fever growing up, let alone leading them to a grand final.
“Being able to get to this grand final and lead this team is something I never thought would happen, something I’ve dreamed of, so I’m really excited,” Anstiss said.
Fever have been breaking records both on and off the court in 2025, with the Green Army setting a new Regular Season Home Game Attendance record twice.
“The Green Army have given us the best support over the last couple of years,” she said.
“So many people have told us they’re coming over to Melbourne so it’s going to feel like a mini Green Army amongst the Melbourne fans over there.
“They mean the world to us and help us get across the line, we definitely have the best fans in the League.”
