The Suncorp Super Netball League has confirmed that Tuesday night's match between West Coast Fever and the Collingwood Magpies is scheduled to proceed under strict protocols in an empty Nissan Arena.
The game will be broadcast live on Telstra TV and the Netball Live App from 4.30pm WA time.
The league has introduced strict new protocols as part of an agreement with the Queensland Government to allow matches to be played during the lockdown in the south-east of the state.
The enhanced protocols include the use of one venue, daily testing of players, compulsory masks for all staff and officials not playing and reduced personnel at games.
Netball Australia CEO Kelly Ryan thanked the Queensland Government for allowing the Suncorp Super Netball League to go ahead during the snap lockdown.
“I’d like to thank the Queensland Government for allowing these matches to go ahead under the strictest of protocols,” Ryan said.
“Our teams have been abiding by stay-at-home restrictions since July and we are very aware of our obligation to protect the broader Queensland community.
“We have proven that we can play safely and these additional measures provide further reassurance to the Queensland Government and community.”
