I’m very excited to officially welcome you back to RAC Arena for season 2026!
There’s no doubt about it, this has been a different pre-season than what we are used too, but I can confidently say despite that, the squad are ready to go out there and uphold our Fever standards.
It's been a pre-season of continuous changes, but I'm really proud of how the squad have handled this time, and of the players who have had to step up to the plate and embraced the challenge.
We welcome back Sasha Glasgow and Verity Simmons to the Green Dress and introduce Romelda Aiken-George to the fold. I know you will give them a warm welcome and show them why the Green Army are the best fans in the world. We could also have a debutant with Sloan Burton in the 10 for today’s game!
To our injured stars on the sidelines, Sunday, Ruth, Zoe and Olivia, I know I am not alone in saying I have every belief that you will return better than ever and that your support right now means a great deal to the Club.
Today will be a challenge, the Lightning should not be underestimated this year, led by Belinda Reynolds and Liz Watson. We will be looking to shut down their shooting circle and see the depth and strength of our defence come through for a strong 60 minutes.
In 2025, we had some great clashes against the Lightning, but a new year and new season means anything can happen, and the squad are prepared.
