Green Army,
After being on the road for the last couple of weeks and enjoying a break for Easter, the team and I are so excited to be back home at RAC Arena for the next two rounds!
Our hit-outs against the Sunshine Coast Lightning are always thrilling, and we can’t wait to see what Belinda, Steph and the whole squad bring our way today.
Finding out the news that Ruth Aryang’s injury means her season is over was devastating. As she has already demonstrated to the Green Army, if there is anyone who can come back stronger than ever, it will be Ruth, and we are with her every step of the way.
The 10-goal win over the Melbourne Vixens last week was a fantastic way to welcome Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard back onto the court. Her impeccable shooting and strong connection with Shanice Beckford impressed the League.
What a special moment to see Jordan and Zoe Cransberg on a Suncorp Super Netball court together for the first time.
Jordan was a particular standout in the mid-court with a breakout game, it’s fantastic see all her hard work from the pre-season paying off on court.
In defence, Kadie-Ann Dehaney and Fran Williams were sensational, their work rate translating into our ability to keep the Vixens shooting end at bay.
There will be plenty to look forward to with today’s game. Get excited to witness our mid-court continue their speed and agility, our defence project pressure and our shooting end be cohesive and accurate.
We will be looking to be advantageous, clinical with the ball and dynamic in defence.
The Green Army truly becomes our eighth player on game day.
There is nothing more motivating than a full crowd at RAC Arena who have geared up in Green and Feel the Fever the entire 60 minutes the girls are on court.
Let’s take on the Lightning!
