The Situation

This Mother’s Day match-up promises to be a blockbuster, with Fever sitting in top spot on the ladder at the midway point of the season, while the Magpies are coming off a sensational win over the second-placed Melbourne Vixens.

In one of the upsets of the season, Collingwood defeated the Vixens 70-60 after starting last week in bottom place on the ladder.

Led by wing attack Kelsey Browne and centre Molly Jovic, Collingwood were on song from the outset, with their win seeing them move into fifth place.

Spectators can expect a shoot-out at RAC Arena as the Suncorp Super Netball league’s two leading goals-scorers go head-to-head in this contest.

West Coast Fever Goal Shooter Jhaniele Fowler is at the top of her game with 394 goals so far this season, while her Magpies counterpart Shimona Nelson has 307 goals to her name.

Fowler will be up against experienced Goal Keeper and Magpies captain Geva Mentor, while Fever skipper Courtney Bruce will receive the job of stopping Nelson.

The outcome of these match-ups are expected to have a big impact on the final result of the game.
