The Situation

It is the half-way point of the season and West Coast Fever head to Adelaide sitting in second place on the ladder with four wins and two losses, to take on the sixth-placed Thunderbirds, who have the reverse win-loss record.

Both teams are coming off narrow defeats in Round 6, with the Fever losing to the Giants by one point in a thriller at Ken Rosewall Arena and the Thunderbirds looking to bounce back from a six-point loss to top team Melbourne Vixens on the road last Saturday.

The match-up between Jamaican internationals Jhaniele Fowler at Goal Shooter for Fever and Shamera Sterling at Goal Keeper for the Thunderbirds promises to be an enthralling contest.

The Sunshine Girls’ teammates are top two on the Nissan Net Points leader board after the first six rounds, with Fowler tallying 591.5 points and Sterling notching up 533.5.

Fowler is also the league’s leading goal scorer with 344 at 95% accuracy, while Sterling leads the competition for intercepts with 23.
