The Situation
West Coast Fever head to Melbourne off the back of a record-breaking win over the Sunshine Coast Lightning in Round 1 to meet Collingwood, who will be aiming to bounce back from their narrow 4-point loss to the Thunderbirds in Adelaide.
The Magpies will be boosted by the return of co-captain Ash Brazill, who was a late scratching in Round 1 after suffering concussion at training. The Australian Diamond is an important addition to her side and is likely to receive the job of trying to contain Alice Teague-Neeld, who was impressive at Wing Attack for Fever last Sunday.
Fever’s squad is unchanged from that which recorded a convincing 19-point win over the Sunshine Coast Lightning, with a new club and Suncorp Super Netball record of 82 goals for the game.
Moments to Watch
West Coast Fever captain Courtney Bruce will celebrate her 100th National League game when she takes the court at John Cain Arena.
The 2021 Liz Ellis Diamond winner and Australian Diamonds defender has cemented her place as one of the world’s best defenders over a 99-game career that commenced with her Fever debut in Round 4, 2013 against the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
She becomes the third player to celebrate 100 games for West Coast Fever behind Caitlin Bassett (118) and Shae Brown (103).
