The Situation
It is the final round of the home and away season at RAC Arena.
West Coast Fever will be aiming to build momentum heading into next weekend’s Major Semi Final against the Melbourne Vixens after cementing second place on the ladder last week. They will also be looking forward to welcoming Vice Captain Jess Anstiss back into the line-up as she returns from a foot injury.
The Thunderbirds still have a chance to secure a top four place with a win on Fever’s home court and will enter the game with confidence after a narrow loss to the top-placed Vixens in Adelaide last week.
Moments to Watch
Jhaniele Fowler is set to break her own record for the most individual goals in a regular season. The 795-goal record set in 2020 at an average of 56.8 per game, is well within reach for Fowler who currently sits on 760 goals.
Averaging 58.4 so far this season, the reigning League and West Coast Fever MVP only needs 36 goals to set the new scoring record, which is likely to occur in the second half of the game if she maintains her usual output.
Defender Stacey Francis-Bayman is also set to celebrate a milestone, reaching her 100th National League game after playing 90 SSN games for West Coast Fever and 9 ANZ Championship games for the Canterbury Tactix.
