Olivia Wilkinson lined-up off the back of her SSN game and was the leading goal scorer for the girls in green. She scored 33 goals with her performance earning herself the game’s MVP.
Wilkinson was supported by Jasmah Haywood (17) and Sloan Burton (14), both talented GIG WANL players swapping out for the Goal Shooter bib.
Captain Zoe Cransberg played four quarters in the centre, her speed making great impact as the Reserves won every quarter.
Cransberg was joined by young gun Clara Wigley in Wing Defence and Sophie Eastaugh in Wing Attack.
Fever’s defensive pressure by Caitlyn Brown and Scarlet Jauncey was key to holding Lightning Bolts’ Natalie Sligar, Rylee Burns and Kaylin Van Greunen just behind in goals.
Coach Guy Keane said It was great to see our West Australian talent step up and take on the challenge with everyone playing their role and impacting when needed.
“We demonstrated an ability to stay in the goal for goal battle and when moments presented, we took advantage of them,” Keane said.
“We had three players debut in the Super Netball Reserves competition, Jasmah Haywood, Sloan Burton, Indi Squiers, who all contributed to the win.
“Wilkinson backed up her strong performance with Fever on Saturday night to shoot 30/35 in two and half quarters including three super shots.”
The Reserves will take on the Melbourne Mavericks on Sunday, 11 May at 10:30am WST Gold Netball Centre.
