Entering the season as reigning premiers, the Fever Reserves boast a talented and experienced line-up across the court.
Fever enjoyed an undefeated 2025 campaign, while their Round One opponent finished seventh on the ladder last season.
Both sides feature athletes with experience at Suncorp Super Netball level. For Fever, Sloan Burton and Caitlyn Brown have both taken the court at the highest level, while the Vixens Academy are bolstered by the experience of defender Maggie Carris, an 11th player in the SSN squad.
World Youth Cup Gold Medallist and Fever training partner Scarlet Jauncey will captain the side, joined by GIG WANL Fremantle Sharks athletes Jess Repacholi and Sophie Eastaugh as Vice Captains.
Head Coach Guy Keane said the squad have focused on connections, consistent work rate and composure under pressure in the pre-season.
“The match-up against the Vixens Academy provides no easing into the season,” he said.
“Their ability to challenge both ends of the court will test our defensive grit and attacking patience from the opening whistle,
“Round 1 will be about owning the moments – building defensive pressure, valuing possession, and committing to one-percent efforts across all four quarters.”
Unfortunately, young gun defender Kate Cunningham and Training Partner Emily Rivers will be out for the 2026 Reserves season after sustaining injuries during the Netball National Championships campaign.
