Key matchups across the court could be the difference between who lifts the 2025 Suncorp Super Netball premiership trophy.
Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard | Rudi Ellis
Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard and Rudi Ellis were premiership teammates for Fever’s maiden title in 2022 and will now face off as opponents in 2025.
In her first game back for the season against the Vixens, Fowler-Nembhard came out swinging with 59 goals, stunning the defence. Ellis found one rebound, one goal and one intercept.
Last time they faced in Round 14, Fowler-Nembhard managed a 100 per cent accuracy for one-point goals.
In the preliminary final, Ellis was a strong presence against Grace Nweke with a rebound, three intercepts and four deflections.
Alice Teague-Neeld | Kate Eddy
Alice Teague-Neeld has had yet another sensational season in the Wing Attack bib, coming out on top for Goal Assists and Centre Pass Receives. She will likely face Kate Eddy in Wing Defence, another mid-courter who has had a stellar season.
Their first outing of the year saw Teague-Neeld notch an impressive 34 Feeds alongside an intercept and deflection. Opposite her in the Wing Defence bib, Eddy managed two deflections.
In Round 14, Teague-Neeld went one step further with her stats on the board with 37 Feeds, 32 Goal Assists and 25 Centre Pass Receives. Eddy scored three deflections and a pickup.
Teague-Neeld will be looking to outwork Eddy across the board, not letting the defence hold down her impressive ability to make impact on a game.
Jordan Cransberg | Kate Moloney
In an absolute breakout year for Jordan Cransberg, she has had to hold her own and challenge the likes of Australian Diamond and Vixens Captain Kate Moloney.
When they met in Round three, Moloney exceeded Cransberg in Feeds, but Fever’s centre found seven pickups to her six and a deflection.
In Round 14, coming off the back of sickness, Cransberg made her entrance during the second quarter of the game and immediately started putting pressure on Moloney.
For a centre in just her second year as a contracted player, Cransberg is fast and fearless, even against experienced opponents.
Sunday Aryang | Kiera Austin
All eyes will be on Sunday Aryang and Kiera Austin, with the Diamonds teammates likely to be a very strong reason for either sides’ victory.
Austin is known for her ability to produce super shots when it counts. When they met in Round 14, she scored six two-point goals out of 10 attempts.
On the other hand, Aryang is one of the competitions’ most prolific defenders and is one of the few credited with being able to hold Austin down this season. In that same last meeting, Aryang earnt six gains, four intercepts, three deflections and two rebounds.
The Fever defender seems to get better every game and matched with her teammates Kadie-Ann Dehaney and Fran Williams the trio often look unstoppable.
