The Situation
The competition has passed the halfway mark of the season and Fever celebrated with a 14-goal win over the Magpies in Round 7. Lightning fell to NSW Swifts by seven goals on Wednesday night. The Lightning hold the balance of power over Fever at the moment, but 2020 is a completely different season and Fever are starting to string together strong performances across the full four quarters.
This game marks a milestone 50th league game for goal attack Alice Teague-Neeld.

Goal Keeper v Goal Shooter
Courtney Bruce v Cara Koenen
Courtney Bruce has bounced back from her back injury, earning her spot in the Suncorp Super Netball Team of the Round for the last two weeks. Her Round 7 performance against Magpies also saw her named Player of the Match. Despite missing three games, Bruce sits fourth with overall intercepts for the season. Bruce will be looking to replicate her form from Round 7 against Cara Koenen, and cause havoc for Lightning’s attacks. Koenen is currently ranked third in total goals (248) shooting at 88% accuracy.
Centre v Centre
Verity Charles v Laura Langman
Both Charles and Langman have been playing great netball and both have been dominating the feeds and goal assists for their team. Charles currently has 113 goal assists for the season as she and Jhaniele continue work solidly together. Langman produced a solid four-quarter performance on Wednesday night despite going down to NSW Swifts.
Goal Shooter v Goal Keeper
Jhaniele Fowler v Phumza Maweni
Jhaniele Fowler continues to wow fans, as the number one shooting option for Fever, Fowler continues to improve her accuracy, she is the leading goal scorer this season with 375 goals at 92% accuracy. She has faced numerous challenges this season including opponents double-tagging, to no avail. Fowler continues to work the court demanding the ball from every angle. Maweni will be challenged, despite Fowler playing 100% game time, she is showing no signs of slowing.
