The Situation
The Giants and Fever have a great rivalry stemming back to 2018 as they battled it out for the Minor Premiership and the right to host the Suncorp Super Netball 2018 Grand Final. 2019 saw the teams neck and neck with one draw and one loss for Fever in the season. Earlier this year the Giants came to the west for a pre-season hit out, which saw Fever take home two wins from two matches, 74-58 and 70-50 proving Fever has what it takes to make finals this season.

Ingrid Colyer v Amy Parmenter
Pocket rocket, Colyer is fast and incredibly strong, constantly causing headaches for her opponents. Up against Giants’ Parmenter, a dynamic midcourter who currently holds the league’s second place for intercepts for the year at 7. The challenge will be around court speed and Colyer’s ability to limit Parmenter’s impact around the court.

Verity Charles v Jamie-Lee Price
Cementing herself as Fever’s starting Centre, Charles brings speed and agility to Fever’s attacking end. The athletic midcourter will be setting herself for a tough battle against Price, who has been pinned as one of the best defensive midcourters in Suncorp Super Netball.
Goal Shooter vs Goal Keeper
Jhaniele Fowler v Sam Poolman
Back to back Suncorp Super Netball MVP, Fowler reinforced her place as the league’s best Goal Shooter in 2019 with 659 goals. Poolman also had an impressive year with 18 intercepts, 27 rebounds and 64 deflections in the 2019 season.
