West Coast Fever are up against top of the ladder Melbourne Vixens. Fever have won the past three games, coming off wins over Queensland Firebirds, Sunshine Coast Lightning and Collingwood Magpies. Vixens have only dropped one game this season back in Round 4 against Adelaide Thunderbirds. Fever are coming off a three-day turnaround, while Vixens have four days to recover and prepare for this game. Fever will be without wing attack Ingrid Colyer (knee injury).

Courtney Bruce has defended extremely well in the past two games against Sunshine Coast Lightning and Queensland Firebirds by playing in front of her opponents. She is likely to face a rotating attack with Caitlin Thwaites and Mwai Kumwenda.

Jess Anstiss is one of the strongest wing defence players in the league as well as a hard ball player. She will have another challenge against Watson who has been leading her side and the competition with goal assists. The challenge for Anstiss will be to slow Watson and keep her from reaching the circle edge to minimise impact.

The last time these two faced each other, Jhaniele Fowler scored 47 goals at 97% accuracy, on top of that she had six rebounds over her opponent. Fowler is leading the overall goals scored with 495 this season. Despite being rested for only 10 minutes this season, Fowler is showing no signs of slowing, after covering plenty of the court in Round 9.
