Since my last blog we have played four regular season games and one semi-final. We have won four of those games and lost the other by one. Although, that one loss made things a little more challenging for us in terms of our route to the final, we are in the privileged position to be preparing for a preliminary-final this weekend against the Sunshine Coast Lightning.
Lots of people keep asking me if I'm excited to be going home soon, given that we are nearing the end of the season and I imagine because of the amount of time that I have been away for. For me though, my mind and body is completely focused on my life in the hub and leaving no stone unturned in our efforts to firstly make it into the 2020 Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final and secondly to winning the Clubs first Premiership.
One of my biggest bug bears of this year has been how fast people have been to jump on the bandwagon of dismissing 2020 as a write off. "The worst year ever!"... "Wake me up when it's 2021." Etc etc. Undoubtedly there has been an enormous amount of adversity - I haven't been living under a rock, we're living through a global pandemic!! However, for me, people's true character is displayed under the greatest of adversities, and prior to any of this years events unfolding, I was determined that I would attack this season with positivity, passion and making sure I had no regrets at the end of 2020.
The 2020 season has been an unprecedented one, but I am so proud of the Club that I play for and the work that we have been putting in behind the scenes since November 2019 to bring you the Fever brand that you are seeing out on court this season!!
Let's be Frank, we're so close, but we're not there yet!!

I think it's only fair to add a side note here... Now a positive attitude genuinely isn't all sunshine and daisies. You should speak to my fiancée if you would like several examples of how annoying it can be to have shared 2020 with someone who won't let you complain about or see the downside of anything! Sorry Sara, I'll make up for it and be a double Debbie Downer next year!!
