Departing Perth on Thursday morning, Fever were straight into a busy day of school visits. The squad visited a total of nine schools, providing their elite expertise in a fun clinic environment for the primary schools around Kalgoorlie.
Head Coach Dan Ryan said it is always great to visit the regions and communities.
“Kalgoorlie has been a place that we have visited a number of times over the last couple of years, so it’s great to get back here and bring netball to the region,” he said.
“The engagement with schools and the kids has just been amazing.”
Fever and the Adelaide Thunderbirds then had their first of two hit outs, facing off at the Evolution Mining Stadium.
Although the game didn’t go Fever’s way, Ryan said it was a really beneficial hit out against a premiership contending team.
“To get in 60 minutes and see both great signs and some challenging parts too has been really beneficial against a top side.”
The Kalgoorlie community also certainly embraced Fever, selling out the stadium in a sea of green.
