West Coast Fever athletes returned to the court at Gold Netball Centre this week as pre-season commenced for the 2022 Suncorp Super Netball season.
With excitement in the air and a spring in their step, Emma Cosh, Alice Teague-Neeld, Sasha Glasgow and new recruit Rudi Ellis, were put through their paces on day one by new Fever Head Coach Dan Ryan.
They were joined by 2021 extended squad members Sloan Burton, Shannon Eagland and Courtney Kruta, as well as former Victorian State Team member Zoe Cransberg, whose twin sister Jordan is a training partner with the Melbourne Vixens.
Cransberg, who recently made the move to Perth, will be one of several players who will receive the opportunity to enter the Fever training environment during pre-season as Ryan finalises the team’s extended squad.
“We haven’t confirmed yet who any of our extended squad members will be for the 2022 season,” Ryan said.
“I’m looking forward to seeing more of the talented players from the GIG WANL and state development programs on court, so that we can identify who will be the best fit for the roles required in our extended squad.
“I expect we will make a decision on the final make-up of the extended squad early next year.”
West Coast Fever imports Jhaniele Fowler and Stacey Francis-Bayman will return to the club early next year following international commitments, while Diamonds squad members Jess Anstiss, Sunday Aryang, Courtney Bruce and Verity Charles will be back on court in the coming weeks.
