She was appointed General Manager (Pathways and Performance) in February 2021 and has also been a specialist High Performance Coach with Fever since 2018. She will continue her specialist coaching role in 2026.
Gaudion said she believed the time was right to step away from the General Manager’s role but was excited to continue her coaching with Fever.
“The past four seasons have flown by and I am really looking forward to 2025 and what that might bring for West Coast Fever,” Gaudion said.
“I never thought I would do the General Manager’s role for five seasons and I am really proud of what we have built and achieved not just for West Coast Fever but the entire Netball WA pathway.
“The Club’s maiden premiership, which was 25 years in the making, is the absolute highlight and a moment I will never forget.
“I have also enjoyed and taken great pride in seeing more home-grown talent not only play for West Coast Fever but also for the Origin Australian Diamonds and the national youth teams.
“The work we have undertaken to improve our pathway is now starting to reap rewards and West Australian Netball is well positioned for the years to come.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed this role but the time is right to pass on the baton and I cannot wait to help with the smooth transition.”
West Coast Fever Chief Executive Officer Simone Hansen said the search for Gaudion’s replacement will commence soon.
"Sue informed the Club during the off-season that she was planning to step down at the end of this season to give us time to prepare for the future and we are now focused on finding the best replacement," Hansen said.
“What Sue Gaudion has been able to achieve in her term as General Manager has been extraordinary and on behalf of Netball WA and West Coast Fever, I want to thank her for her efforts and commitments to drive the Club and our Performance and Pathway Team.
“The crown jewel in her term as General Manager is helping guide the Club to our maiden National League premiership in 2022.
“Another important piece of work she has achieved is improving our netball pathway here in WA. We are starting to see the hard work she has driven in this space with more home grown talent representing Fever and national pathway teams, which will leave a lasting legacy for the sport in this State.”
The Club hopes to have the replacement confirmed prior to the end of the season.
