Williams, who has already had an impressive career across the English Netball Super League and the English National team, said she is enjoying settling into her new home.
“I’ve only been here for three weeks but I already feel so settled within the team, and I’m starting to build some really good connections in defence,” Williams said.
“The intensity, standards of Fever training, and the whole environment has been amazing; I jumped straight in and I’m loving it.
“I’m really enjoying learning about the history of the Club, all the staff and coaches lead that by educating us on players who were here before us, right from the Orioles days.”
Williams said the Green Army’s reputation has proceeded them.
“The Fever fans and the Green Army is something I had heard a lot about before coming to Perth, I had been told that West Coast Fever have the best fans in the league.
“A full home game day experience at RAC with the Green Army is something I’m really looking forward to.”
English international players have a consistent history in the SSN league, but the style and intensity of the Australian competition is certainly something to get used to.
“I have always been a big fan of SSN, I watched it at home and supported the English girls that have come over and played in the league here,” Williams said.
“The thing I am most looking forward to is the competitiveness of the games of SSN, and that’s something I’ve always admired about the league.
“Each weekend you step out and have an exciting fixture, and no game is an easy bank win.”
Williams is also adjusting to the Perth lifestyle and although she’s not yet used to the heat, she said she’s loving WA.
“I love how much people love to be outside and active, we don’t get that luxury with the weather at home.
“I love that people just go down to swim in the sea for a little bit or get up early for a walk. It’s something I’m enjoying about Perth.”
