West Coast Fever shooter Jhaniele Fowler has capped off a brilliant season, named the Suncorp Super Netball Player of the Year at the 2019 Australian Netball Awards in Sydney on Saturday night.
Fowler, a dual winner of the award (2018 Suncorp Super Netball Player of the Year), was also named in the Suncorp Super Netball Team of the Year (Goal Shooter).
The honour caps off a significant year for Fowler, who captained Jamaica at the 2019 Netball World Cup. She was also crowned West Coast Fever’s Most Valuable Player and Players’ Player of the Year in September.
Fowler was magnificent for Fever in what was a tough year, with the shooter scoring a Super Netball high 709 goals at 94 per cent accuracy. She backed up her remarkable 2018 season, when she also topped the league with 884 goals.
West Coast Fever Head Coach, Stacey Marinkovich, said that Fowler was a deserving winner of the award.
“Jhaniele’s dedication to the game is second to none,” said Marinkovich.
“Her hardwork and leadership, on and off the court, make her a truly deserving winner of this award.
“We’re proud to have her in the Fever dress and can’t wait to see what she will produce in 2020.”
