Catherine Cox’s career spans almost two decades at the highest level of international and domestic netball, including two influential stints in Western Australia.
At domestic level, Cox played for the Perth Orioles from 2000 to 2001, co-captaining the side and being named player of the year in both seasons.
She returned to Western Australia in 2012 to join West Coast Fever, once again captaining the side and making 26 appearances across two years.
Cox held the record for most national league games with 254 appearances, a milestone later surpassed by West Coast Fever player Romelda Aiken-George in front of a home crowd in Perth in 2026.
On the international stage, Cox made her Diamonds debut (#119) against South Africa in Perth in 1997. She went on to play 108 Test Caps representing Australia at three Netball World Cups and three Commonwealth Games, captaining the side on seven occasions.
Since retiring from playing, Cox has remained a respected voice in the sport, commentating on Super Netball and Diamonds matches for Channel 9 and Fox Sports.
