Fever head into Round 13 sitting third on the Suncorp Super Netball ladder, level on points with fourth-placed Mavericks but narrowly ahead on percentage, making this clash critical in the race for finals positioning and the chance to host a home final.
The GIANTS are still searching for their first win of the season and will be eager to seize the opportunity in front of a home crowd as their campaign nears its conclusion.
When the teams last met in Round 3, Fever recorded a 69–50 win at RAC Arena.
Head-to-Head
Fran Williams has been a standout for Fever this season, with her form in goal defence continuing to impress. Her ability to win ball and disrupt attacking momentum will be something Sophie Dwyer will need to manage carefully, particularly after Williams recorded five deflections last week.
Amy Sligar has been a bright spark through the Giants midcourt, but this week she will be tasked with matching Fever wing attack Alice Teague-Neeld, whose speed and precision feeding are noteworthy.
Sasha Glasgow will no doubt be looking for a high-volume scoring performance, particularly during the super shot period, while Jodi-Ann Ward faces the challenge of limiting her influence in the circle.
From the Court
Head Coach Dan Ryan said his side is expecting a strong challenge on Sunday.
“It’s about getting our game right for the full 60 minutes and showing a level of consistency that’s been missing over the past four to five weeks,” he said.
