The match will also be Collingwood’s final game in Suncorp Super Netball as the club has elected to not renew their license beyond this season.
Last Week
Fever moved into second spot on the ladder thanks to a resounding 72-61 goal win over the Giants in front of a record 11,013 fans at RAC Arena.
While the first quarter remained close, Fever forged ahead in the Power Five until the Giants bounced back with two late Super Shots to close the margin back down.
The second quarter followed the same pattern as while Fever looked like the better of the two sides. It wasn’t until the start of the third quarter where Fever built and consolidated a large lead.
Courtney Bruce played a major role in the win with a remarkable nine Gains as well as five Pickups and with Sunday Aryang also starring in defence, Fever ultimately forced more errors from the Giants.
Collingwood are coming off a tough loss against a finals-bound Vixens side in a scrappy King Birthday Monday game that ended 64-55.
It looked like the Magpies were going to pull of their second big upset in as many weeks as they were leading by nine goals late in the second quarter.
Vixens eventually showed why they’re in the top four and went on a large run of goals in the third and fourth quarter to reclaim the lead and finish victorious in the final Melbourne Derby.
Match Ups
Fans can expect a Super Shot battle between the duelling Goal Attacks with both Sasha Glasgow and Sophie Garbin known for their shooting from distance. Last time the sides met Glasgow put through 10 Super Shots compared to Garbin’s seven.
Fever’s offence will also have to deal with the international defensive duo of Jodi-Ann Ward and Geva Mentor. The pair bring a wealth of experience with Ward leading the league for intercepts with 38 and both players in the top five for Deflections.
The match will also see Alice Teague-Neeld and Ash Brazill battle it out in the Wing Attack and Wing Defence positions as both players face their former clubs. Earlier in the season, Teague-Neeld was able to win the contest recording 33 Goal Assists and three Pickups.

Fever were dominant when the sides last met at RAC Arena as the home team won every quarter by at least five goals.
Despite an early slip, Fever were able to regain composure and quickly push to a strong lead at quarter time. Momentum continued in the second quarter and ultimately throughout the whole game as Verity Simmons and Teague-Neeld were able to run through the midcourt with ease.
Glasgow was able to capitalise during the Power Five and scored 10 Super Shots throughout the clash to push Fever’s lead ever further.
Stats and Facts
Fever hold an impressive record against Collingwood winning seven straight against the Magpies with their last defeat in March, 2019. Last time they played, Fever recorded 22 Gains, a season high for the club.
This week’s match marks the end of a remarkable career for Ash Brazill in Suncorp Super Netball. The midcourter has played 143 games in the National League, including five seasons with Fever from 2012 until 2016, and has 22 International Caps to her name.
