Held in Adelaide at the Netball SA Stadium from Friday 14 March to Sunday 16 March, all SSN teams will face off in a round-robin style tournament, perfect for setting the tone for season 2025.
West Coast Fever have had an intense pre-season of preparation with Sunday Aryang, Shanice Beckford, Kadie-Ann Dehaney, Alice Teague-Neeld and Fran Williams also on international duties alongside their domestic training. Young guns Ruth Aryang and Olivia Wilkinson have also been getting plenty of court time as part of the Australian 21/U squad.
West Coast Fever feature in Pool B, taking on the Melbourne Vixens, NSW Swifts and Queensland Firebirds. Pool A consists of the reigning premiers Adelaide Thunderbirds, Sunshine Coast Lighting, Melbourne Mavericks and GIANTS Netball.
Fever kicks off the weekend with the opening match against the Queensland Firebirds, who will play for the first time under new leadership with Head Coach Kiri Wills. The Firebirds will no doubt be looking to make a statement, especially with new English recruit Imogen Allison.
The girls in green will then go up against last year’s TGC winners, the NSW Swifts. The Swifts have undoubtedly made the most notable changes to their squad in the off season. Silver Ferns superstar Grace Nweke has joined the ranks in shooting, whilst Fever premiership player Verity Simmons has replaced Maddy Proud in the mid-court. This will be the first time Simmons faces Fever in her new colours, including former teammates Aryang, Teague-Neeld and captain Jess Anstiss.
The Melbourne Vixens are next up, ending the Saturday with a Preliminary Final rematch. Fever will be determined to rewrite last year’s heartbreaking one-goal loss, utilising their new shooter and former Vixen Mwai Kumwenda to propel them into Sunday’s finals.
