Four West Coast Fever players feature in the Round 1 Nissan Net Points Team of the Round following sensational performances in their 82-63 win against the Sunshine Coast Lightning at RAC Arena.
Jhaniele Fowler was named at Goal Shooter, Sasha Glasgow at Goal Attack, Jess Anstiss at Wing Defence and Courtney Bruce at Goal Keeper, after all recording impressive Nissan Net Points totals.
Fowler’s dominance in the attacking circle saw her tally a competition-high 108 Nissan Net Points after finishing the game with 64 goals shooting at 97% accuracy.
She was unstoppable from close range, with her only two misses coming from Super Shot attempts.
Glasgow recorded 91.5 Nissan Net Points with 29 assists, 9 goals and 4 successful Suncorp Super Shots.
At the other end of the court, Courtney Bruce had 11 gains, 7 rebounds, 4 deflections and 2 intercepts to notch up 90 Nissan Net Points.
Jess Anstiss, who was playing her first game as Fever Vice captain, totalled 66 Nissan Net Points with 8 assists, 2 intercepts, 2 gains and 2 pick ups.
Their combine efforts helped Fever record the club’s highest ever score, surpassing their total of 80 points against Lightning in 2020. It was also just two points short of the highest ever National League score of 84 by Southern Steel in 2015.
Nissan Net Points are Suncorp Super Netball’s stats-based scoring system, run by Champion Data, that measures every player action on the court.
Points are allocated for every statistic and if players make mistakes or cause turnovers, they lose points. At the end of the game, each player receives an individual Nissan Net Points score, which represents their contribution to the match.
