Four West Coast Fever players featured in the Nissan Net Points Team of the Round following powerful performances against Queensland Firebirds in Round 7 of the Suncopr Super Netball season.
The 10-goal victory over Firebirds extended Fever’s unbeaten run to a clean sweep of all other sides in the competition at the mid-way point of the competition.
The players that were pivotal in the Round 7 success were all included in the team of the week, seeing green dresses extend from one end of the court to the other and across to wing attack.
Captain Courtney Bruce registered 100.5 Nissan Net Points at Goal Keeper after recovering superbly from a rolled ankle in the first quarter to apply her trademark defensive pressure with 12 gains and five intercepts.
Goal Shooter Jhaniele Fowler continued her consistency in the circle with 62 goals from 64 attempts and added an intercept to tally a season-high 116.5, while Jess Anstiss clocked up 76.5 at Centre and Verity Charles 60 at Wing Attack.
Charles provided an early spark feeding Fowler, Sasha Glasgow and Alice Teague-Neeld with 25 goal assists, while Anstiss showed her grit at Centre with some outstanding defensive efforts and precise passing to deliver 18 goal assists.
Nissan Net Points are Suncorp Super Netball’s stats-based scoring system, run by Champion Data, that measures every player action on the court.
Points are allocated for every statistic and if players make mistakes or cause turnovers, they lose points. At the end of the game, each player receives an individual Nissan Net Points score, which represents their contribution to the match.
Fans can then vote each week on their individual ‘Game Changer’ from the Team of the Week for a chance to win weekly prizes.
