Captain Courtney Bruce was crucial to the Fever’s 15-goal win with her four-quarter performance leading the Fever’s defence and setting the standard for defensive pressure.
She was supported by Sunday Aryang, who continued her amazing form from Friday’s Game One, and recruit Kim Jenner. All three providing great counterattack on top of their defence.
Fever started Game Two well off the back of a sensational quarter from Bruce. However, two late supershots from Thunderbirds Cardwell and Horjus reduced the margin to one goal at quarter time.
Fever controlled the second quarter and built on their lead to go into the main break with a four-goal advantage.
The third quarter saw Fever extend their lead to seven goals at the beginning of the supershot period as their attack went into overdrive. Cosh in Wing Attack and Jordan Cransberg in Centre provided energy and supply and Jhaniele Fowler was able to capitalise.
Like the first quarter, two late supershots from Cardwell saw the Thunderbirds reduce the lead to four goals at the final change.
Sasha Glasgow replaced Fowler in Goal Shooter for the final quarter and the Fever continued to control the contest off the back of superb defensive efforts.
Leading by 10 goals, a Nat Butler supershot early in the supershot period extended the lead to 12 and Fever was never headed as they outscored the Thunderbirds by 11 goals in the final quarter.
West Coast Fever will now prepare for their Round 1 Grand Final Re-Match with Melbourne Vixens at RAC Arena on Saturday 18 March. Tickets now on sale.
