The Green Army should brace for a big Friday night, complete with disco dancing and plenty of excitement to launch the Mother’s Day weekend.
The Thunderbirds sit just above Fever on the ladder in second, making this match pivotal in either stretching the top-three pack or closing the gap.
Fever and Thunderbirds clashes are known for their competitiveness, with four Jamaican Sunshine Girls across both teams bringing flair and firepower to the court.
When they met in Round Two, the Thunderbirds prevailed at home by 13 goals, something Fever will be determined to avenge.
Head-to-head
There aren’t many opponents who know each other as well as Romelda Aiken-George and Shamera Stirling-Humphrey, national teammates and former Thunderbirds teammates. Aiken-George will be fully focused on staying composed under her good friend’s defensive pressure.
Fran Williams has been on fire in recent weeks and will look to bring her A-game in the super shot period as she lines up against Georgie Horjus. Known for scoring super shots in a hurry and flipping the margin, Horjus will be a priority for Williams to shut down early.
Midcourters Jordan Cransberg and Kate Heffernan recorded 36 feeds each in Round Eight. All eyes will be on who can push through and make the bigger impact this week.
From the Court
Head Coach Dan Ryan said it’s great to have the Thunderbirds back here for a top four clash.
“If we’re serious about challenging the top two teams and beating those teams that we haven’t already, this is the time.
