Fever Reserves 56 defeat QBE Academy Swifts 55
Fever started their weekend with an absolute nail biter, beating the Swifts by a single goal in the final minutes.
With just under a minute remaining in the game, Jasmah Haywood scored her 49th goal for the match to put the side ahead by three goals. That lead was enough to keep Fever in front by the final siren, despite two consecutive goals from Swifts’ Nicola Barge.
Clara Wigley played a full match in the centre bib against the rotation of Swifts Lili Gorman-Brown and Jessica Conlan.
Fever 62 defeat Giants Reserves 42
Despite a lead from the Giants in the first quarter, Fever kicked into gear and won the remaining three.
Sophie Eastaugh starred in goals with 31 to her name, joined by Haywood (20) and Sloan Burton (11).
Zoe Cransberg brought her expertise to the centre bib whilst young gun Teagan Begovic hit the court for the first time in Wing Attack.
Fever’s rotating defensive end held the Giants down with Jessica Repacholi, Kate Cunningham, Caitlyn Brown and Scarlet Jauncey all applying intense pressure.
The Reserves now travel to Melbourne to face the Vixens Academy on Saturday, 14 June for their last game before finals.
