West Coast Fever has today commenced the recruitment process for a new Head Coach to replace Stacey Marinkovich at the conclusion of the 2021 Suncorp Super Netball season.
Marinkovich was appointed as Head Coach of the Australian Diamonds last year, and will hold both her national and Fever roles in 2021, before turning her sole attention to the Diamonds job at the conclusion of the domestic season.
The Club was formed in 2008, and over the past four years has delivered continued improvement in performance, competing in two Grand Finals, sustainable growth of partnerships and alliances, a growing membership and fan base, and a strong people-first focus with stability across team members and high performance staff.
The successful applicant will become just the fifth Head Coach of West Coast Fever, following in the footsteps of Sue Gaudion (2008), Jane Searle (2009 – 2011), Norma Plummer (2012 – 2014) and Marinkovich (2015 – present).
Gaudion, now the Club’s General Manager (Pathways & Performance) said it would be a significant appointment in the Club’s history.
“We’ve got an advantage that we know Stacey is departing us at the end of the year, so for us to be able to commence the recruitment of a new Head Coach months in advance is something that places us really well,” Gaudion said.
“The benefit of me being in this role is that I will know every applicant that submits and EOI, and I think that’s a fantastic strategic advantage for our Club.”
“We’re looking for a proven leader that will drive our Club’s vision forward, manage a dynamic High Performance environment including staff and team, set the coaching and technical direction of the team’s playing performance, and support the WA athlete pathway by continuing to identify emerging talented athletes from within.”
Fever’s vision is to be the benchmark elite netball club on and off the court, with a purpose to inspire and make our fans, members, stakeholders and the greater West Australian netball community proud.
More information can be found here, with the EOI process to close on April 9, 2021.
