Fever took the points in Round Two and Round Eight in two contrasting games of Suncorp Super Netball.
Fever stuns in first home game
Fever produced a dominate performance back in Round Two to bring home a 25-goal win over the Lightning at RAC Arena.
In what was one of the squad’s most anticipated games of the season, Fever demonstrated the work they have put in over the pre-season to take down one of the premiership favourites.
Fever led by three goals at the first change and built a 15-goal advantage by half time after outscoring the visitors 17 to nine in the second quarter.
Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard had 32 goals in the first half on her way to a game-high 66.
After leading by 15 goals at three-quarter-time, Fever opened up the game in the last quarter with four supershots to Fowler-Nembhard (two) and Olivia Wilkinson (two).
Fever bounce back
In Round Nine, Fever bounced back with a strong performance on the Sunshine Coast, defeating the Lighting 71-69 at UniSC Arena.
Fever trailed by half time before responding to the challenge in the second half to record their seventh win of the season.
After a tight opening half, Fever controlled the third quarter with their defence was on fire securing six gains, a rebound and an intercept as they started to control the contest.
Olivia Wilkinson was injected for the Power Five with great effect, scoring two supershots and with one from Fowler-Nembhard, the visitor lead by three at the final break.
Fever’s game was on point in the final quarter as they responded to the challenges thrown to them by the hosts.
The defensive duo of Aryang and Fran Williams had it impossible for the Lightning to get an easy supershot opportunity.
