Fever set up their victory with a dominant Power Time in the third quarter with three supershots in a row, two to Sasha Glasgow and one to Nat Butler, to extend their lead to 10 goals at the last break.
Jordan Cransberg made the most of her opportunity at Wing Attack with a great performance across all quarters. Her combination with twin sister Zoe in the second half helped Fever provide opportunities in the circle for Glasgow and Butler.
The third quarter started with a superb defensive effort from Captain Courtney Bruce and a quick transition to Glasgow for a goal. Then the teams traded goals for most of the quarter before Fever pounced.
Fever started the game strongly with the combination of Jhaniele Fowler and Emma Cosh up front was stretching the Magpies in the first quarter.
Fowler was making her presence felt in the absence of Geva Mentor while Cosh was dynamic with a super shot and four goal assists for the quarter.
Fever started the second quarter strongly after Glasgow replaced the dangerous Cosh and did not miss a beat. Collingwood lifted in Power Time outscoring the Fever seven to five including a SuperShot to Olivia Wilkinson to trail Fever by four goals at half time.
Bruce was excellent at Goal Defence in the first half before moving to Keeper after the main break.
Glasgow and Fowler combined for 42 goals with Cosh and Butler scoring two and five respectively.
The Fever now need the Sunshine Coast Lightning to defeat the NSW Swifts to book a place in Sunday’s Team Girls Cup grand final.
