Fever are coming off a seven-goal win against the NSW Swifts in front of a record home crowd at RAC Arena.
In a dominant display, shooting powerhouse Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard broke her own scoring record, with 75 goals and a 98 per cent shooting accuracy, including one supershot.
Fran Williams took home the fan voted MVP as she managed five rebounds, two deflections and an intercept, limiting the Swifts shooting abilities alongside partner Sunday Aryang.
In Melbourne the Firebirds went down by 12 goals in Round 10 to the Melbourne Mavericks, the side will no doubt be working hard for a win this week.
The last time the two sides met, Fever took the win in an impressed 36-goal margin at home, their biggest win for the season so far.
Head-to-Head
Firebird Donnel Wallam, currently sits in second behind Fowler- Nembhard for goal scoring in the league with 427 goals. Wallam will have to make her way around Fever’s Goalkeeper Williams, who sits second in defensive rebounds with 20 for the season so far.
Fever’s Diamond Sunday Aryang will focus her defensive pressure on Tippah Dwan in goals to limit her supershot prowess. Fever’s defensive trio is rounded out with Kadie-Ann Dehaney who has proven her capabilities in an impressive 10 games in green.
In the mid court, Captain Jess Anstiss, Kelsey Browne and Alice Teague-Neeld will use their quick combinations and integral feeds to face off against Firebirds Lara Dunkley, Macy Gardner and Hulita Veve.
Record breaker Fowler-Nembhard will be utilising her accuracy in goals to work her way around Firebird Remi Kamo, who sits fifth in defensive rebounds for the league
From the Court
Head Coach Dan Ryan side Fever played some of their best netball for the season against the Swifts last week, something their aiming to continue against the Firebirds.
“They have the ability to score very quickly through Donnel Wallam, so a very direct approach to goal is something we really need to take care of,” he said.
“We’re making sure we really have that attention to detail in every session we have together and find ways to be even better at the things we do really well.”
