West Coast Fever’s stellar 2022 season has been recognised with the team and coach shortlisted as finalists for the SportWest Awards.
The Fever’s maiden premiership win in July secured a finalist position for the Team of the Year category along with the WA Men’s Cricket Team and Perth Wheelcats Women.
While Coach Dan Ryan is a finalist for the Coach of the Year category up against Athletics Coach Paul Burgess and WA Men’s Cricket Coach Adam Voges for the prestigious award.
General Manager Performance and Pathway Sue Gaudion said the shortlisting of the Team and Ryan capped off an amazing 2022 for the Fever.
“The SportWest Awards are Western Australia’s premier sports awards and it is great recognition for our players, staff and Dan to be shortlisted as finalists,” Gaudion said.
“The 2022 Season has been an amazing ride as we secured our maiden premiership which has been 25 years in the making. Now to be finalists for two major awards shows our season and performance stacks up as among the best from across WA Sport.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the other finalists in the two categories and fingers crossed Fever and Dan can take home the awards in February.”
The winners of the SportWest Awards will be announced on Thursday 23 February 2023.
