Ten minutes of defensive power by the Thunderbirds in the second quarter broke the game open the home side’s way.
Fever’s start to the second quarter was strong as they were able to win ball and increase their quarter time lead to as many as four goals by the seven-minute mark.
The Thunderbirds then hit back to turn the margin right around.
Five consecutive goals had slashed Fever’s lead and the home side had hit the front as the Power Five buzzer rang out. Before the home team went into half time leading by five goals.
Dan Ryan shuffled the bibs at half time moving Captain Anstiss into Centre, Jordan Cransberg to Wing Attack and Alice Teague-Neeld into Goal Attack.
But the moves were to no avail as the Thunderbirds started the third quarter where they left off, extending their lead to 12 goals five minutes in.
Verity Simmons made her return to the green dress in Centre during the Third Quarter and Sasha Glasgow to Goal Attack as Fever tried to disrupt the Thunderbirds’ control of the game.
The injection of debutant Sloan Burton gave Fever a double supershot threat and Glasgow delivered three supershots to reduce the margin to nine goals at three-quarter-time.
Ryan returned to the Starting Seven for the last quarter and despite a late flurry of supershots from Glasgow and Burton, the Thunderbirds were able to hold their margin.
In the first quarter, Fever jumped out of the blocks off the back of Glasgow who scored seven goals including one supershot for the first quarter. Her second goal was her 1,00th National League Goal.
Glasgow was dominate from supershot range, finishing the game with six supershots.
Fever now host the Giants at RAC Arena on Sunday, centre pass at 1pm.
