All eight SSN teams will descend on Netball SA Stadium from Friday, 14 March to Sunday, 16 March in a round robin style tournament.
Team Girls Cup will be the first time fans can see how their team is shaping up in an official capacity, with changes to squads across the League.
Fever are coming off the back of their pre-season trip to Victoria. The side faced the Melbourne Mavericks at their home court and then travelled to play the Giants and Melbourne Vixens at the Ballarat Blitz.
Head Coach Dan Ryan said Team Girls Cup is a really important weekend for Fever in preparation for Round One.
“This is a great opportunity to see how much progress we’ve made in the training environment, getting a clear idea of where we need to keep improving and consolidating,” Ryan said.
Fever will start the weekend with a clash against the Queensland Firebirds on Friday, headlined by their new shooting recruit Mary Cholhok.
Saturday will be a double header with the squad taking on the NSW Swifts in the morning with their New Zealand Silver Fern import Grace Nweke and Fever premiership player Verity Simons on their list.
They will then back up their performance with a preliminary final rematch against the Vixens, the second time the two sides have seen each other in their pre-season campaigns.
Finals will take place on Sunday, with the play-off games determined nu results across the weekend.
“We’re going to see some teams we haven’t faced so far in the pre-season in the Firebirds and the Swifts and then we’ll have another crack against the Vixens,” Ryan said.
“Those three teams are our first in the SSN season as well so that will give us a really good idea as how our opposition is progressing as well.”
Fever will travel to Adelaide with a 12-athlete side, with the inclusion of training partner Sloan Burton, in order to focus on load management for the squad.
“The load management is a really critical part of the weekend, “ Ryan said.
“We are looking to give every combination the time to find their feet and play their role to get comfortable under the intensity and speed of the game.”
